Greenwood Christian School Home Educators Association has been serving homeschool families since 1996.  It is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization governed by a volunteer board taken from its membership.  While providing legal accountability as described in SC Law 59-65-47, GCSHEA respects homeschooling families by allowing them to make independent decisions regarding curriculum and other educational needs of their children.  Our administrator handles tuition, transcripts, reports to school districts, and all necessary paperwork and communication with members.  The administrator is guided by the board which meets monthly.

 

A close relationship between GCSHEA and Greenwood Christian School has allowed our members to participate in varsity athletics, field trips, and part-time classes.

 

Currently, GCSHEA supports 112 students and has been awarding high school diplomas since its beginning.  All graduates meet the state requirements of completing 24 credits and all mandatory courses specified by the law of South Carolina.  We hold our annual commencement exercises in the spring.  Our Graduates Page highlights our past class graduates.  It is currently being compiled, please check back often as we are continually adding to it.

 

Over the years, GCSHEA seniors have been accepted for admission to various colleges and universities.  A listing of these are located on our ‘Where are they now?’ page.

Please take a moment to visit our website especially the Awards and Achievements section.  Our children have worked very hard, and as parents and home educators, we are very proud of them.

Our ‘Where are they now?’ section is currently under construction, but does contain a listing of the colleges and universities mentioned above.
